Camping for Brian's 40th birthday!

We went on our first family camping outing for Brian's 40th Birthday celebration a few weeks ago. Their family is big into camping, so they rented some lots up in Platte City to have the shin dig. It was a really good time, however, it poured rain off and on, so that really put a bit of a "damper" in things. Josh, Ella and I stayed the night up there, but Sloane went home to stay the night with Nina and Papa, and that was probably a very good idea, since the rest of us got very little sleep!

The lake!

We were all lucky enough to make it down to the lake for the Fourth of July! With Josh's work schedule, it's really hard to get down there as much as we'd like. I made it down with girlfriends a few weeks after the 4th, but also really missed the fam, so I had Josh bring himself and the girls down after he got off work on Sat. He got off early, so I got lucky because I was really missing them! Thank goodness I have great girlfriends who didn't mind at all. Anyways, we absolutely love it down at Nina's lakehouse and we're looking forward to going down one more time this summer...over Labor Day weekend when Josh will next have some time off.

Sloane's 1st Birthday Party!

I still can't believe my baby girl is already 1. Seems like just yesterday she was born!! We had a nice time at her party with family and a few close friends. Her great-grandparents, Marilyn and Howard, were able to come down from Iowa, and it was so nice to have them!!
